Last Wednesday, HRAC braved the wind and rain to spend the evening with the very talented, prize winning photographer, Jennifer Pattison. Located in a beautiful loft in Hackney that was once a shoe factory in Victorian times, we were free to roam through the vast space where Jennifer lives and works that  is filled with a wunderkammer of vintage flea market finds. Each seating area hosted a specially curated example of her work over the years for sale to HRAC members. Jennifer discussed her photographic process and her recent experience being awarded with the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize in 2012 for Lynn from her ‘In Sight of My Skin’ series. She even brought out the white gloves for us to handle her prints!  Self-titled as ‘too nostalgic’ to abandon analog for digital photography outside of her commercial commissions, Jennifer’s passion for the quest to capture the perfect shot was palpable. We are excited about her beautiful ‘Flower Boys’ series, which has already been featured in Darwin magazine. Jennifer’s career trajectory is certainly one to watch.  After poring over her prints, we shared a lasagna dinner around her dining room table.
